The 15U Boys were back at it this weekend in Barrie for the Tier 2 McGregor cup.  Pool play provided little challenge as they defeated Interclub 25 – 6, 25 – 8 and Pakmen 25 – 18, 25 – 16.  Meeting the Aurora Storm 14U team in the crossover was another two set affair as the D.A. squad put them away 25 – 18, 25 – 18.  The semi final had us up against Storm LMR from Mississauga who forced our boys to eliminate their errors and march to the final, winning 25 – 15 and 25 – 17.

The final match against Toronto West was an eagerly anticipated one, by both teams.  T. West was looking for revenge after losing to D.A. the previous week in Rochester and The Black were interested in sending a clear message that their spot in next months Tier 1 competition was well deserved.  Set one brought the only blemish on an almost perfect day when the 15U’s stumbled and gave up their only set in the tournament, 18 - 25.  Showing a bit of spirit, the boys rallied for a second set victory of 25 – 16, setting up the crucial third set.  Leading at the switch 8 – 5 the team held the lead until the end when Sebastien Keegan finished them off with two straight points, first with a kill from power and then a rocket jump serve that left the T. West player wondering what hit him.

Congratulations and good luck to the 15U Boys in Tier 1!
