It was a tough day for the U13 Red team yesterday in Bowmanville. Going up
against the top teams in Ontario for our first ever Tier 1 tournament. The
girls were eager for their day to start. The girls started the day facing
the Akwesasne Eagles from their U13 provincial cup in November. The girls
won easily. Their next match was against the Scarborough Titans, followed by
South County-Teal. Winning all three matches but losing one game placed
them in 2nd in their pool.
The girls tried very
hard towards their goal of a Bronze medal (well, Kaitlyn and Raelyn's goals) but
sadly, didn't have enough gas to get through the play-offs. After losing
their first match in the play-offs against Aurora Storm Monsoon, the girls
little hearts just couldn't make it.
At the end of the day, the girls were devastated that they would not be
returning to Tier 1 next tournament but hope to be back and better than ever
next time around!
I would like to take
this opportunity to congratulate the girls on a tough day and some nice plays.
Good work to: Hannah Cooper, Hailey Coward, Maxine Cudlip, Courtney Cullum,
Shannon Dean, Julie Henderson, Kaitlyn Lee, Raelyn McCurdy, Amanda Vitums,
Carrol-Anne Walker, and Zinet Wright. I would also like to thank our
coaches Darryl Cooper and John Dean for helping us reach Tier 1 tournament
already this season. We never could've done it without you guys!
Good Luck to our U13 Red girls in their U14 girls Hawkins Cup on January 20th in
Whitby.
BYE FOR NOW!!
