In
13U Attack Black's first Tier 1 tournament, we started from a great
start and came to a great finish.
During pool play, we had some close games with DRVC Blue. We won
them with hard work, movement and happy feet with the scores 25-22 and
25-16.
Then our next game was with Monsoon, beating them easily with the
scores of 25-13 and 25-15.
Our final
pool play game was against Etobicoke Titans. We lost the first
game badly at 13-25 but came back in the second game with the win of
25-14 and had to go to a third game which we won with a 3 point lead
of 15-12. With all this hard effort, we came first in our pool.
Going into the playoffs, we faced the Akwesasne Eagles in the quarter
finals. We had some downfalls, but managed to come back and win
with the scores of 25-16 and 25-23.
In the semi-finals, we faced the Hurricanes. The first game was
very close at 29-27. But we won easily in the second game with the
score of 25-9, which led us into the gold medal match against Storm
Thunder.
All the sets were tough as we were in the gold medal match. The first
game we won at 25-23, but lost in the second, leading us into a 3rd
game. Even though we had some sick and injured players, and had
to work hard and sacrifice to get to the ball, we did it, with the
score of 18-16 for Attack Black which made us and the parents jump up
and down.
During the day, we had such good rallies and good times, while the
parents were cheering us on and our coaches gave us great advice and
in the end, we had a great tournament placing 1st in the McGregor Cup.
Good job girls!
