In pool
play the girls had a tough start facing Niagara Splash barely losing
with a score of 25-27 and 27-29. The girls then went into another
close game losing the first set to Hurricanes Blue 16-25 then winning
27-25, this went to the tiebreaker game the girls played strong but
came up short losing 8-15.
In
play-offs the girls played the first ranked team in pool B. They
fought hard in the first game and won 25-15. In the second game
the girls lost 19-25. In the tiebreaker the girls won 15-9.
This led
to the semi-finals, where it was time for pay-back against Niagara
Splash. The girls played hard and won the first game 25-23.
They tried to keep up but just fell short in the second game losing
21-25. In the tiebreaker the girls lost 8-15.
This meant
that they were in the Bronze medal match. They faced the home
team Burlington Blaze. In the first set Durham pulled ahead
winning 25-9. In the second they just lost 23-25, and in the
tiebreaker the girls won 15-11.
The girls
only lost to the first and second place teams through out the whole
tournament. GREAT JOB ATTACK!!!!!!!!
