It was a great start
to the 2006-2007 volleyball season for the 15U Black girls team. The girls went
into the Provincial Cup – Tier One with confidence and enthusiasm.
Pool play was won against
the National Capitals (25-12, 25-19) and Pegasus Hawks (25-8, 25-15). In
the crossover match, the girls took both games against Aurora Storm (25-11,
25-11). The biggest challenge of the day came from the Scarborough Titans, a
team that caused the girls some grief last year as well. The first game
was tight, as the girls had to fight back from behind, until the final two
points to win the game 26-24). The second game was equally a nail biter,
as they won 25-22. This was the most exciting match of the day, with great ball
being played by both teams.
The Gold medal match took place against the South County Bandits, and was won
with solid teamwork, effective sets and strong hits 25-20, 25-22.
As always, thanks to our
coaches, and a special welcome is extended to our newest coach, Anne Botica!
