girls basketball vs. boys basketball

coach thompson,
i have been coaching girls at the middle school and high school
level for three years now. i am 25 years old and before starting this
job, only worked with boys teams. my advice to you is to always be positive.
with boys teams you can jump down some throats and get them pumped up to
do better. with girls it seems to have the opposite effect. you can yell and
get your point across but you have to follow up with positve and inspiring remarks
to keep them focus. this was the hardest concept for me to grasp. always
find positive things to inform your players.
also be ready for boyfriend problems and sensitivity. girls seem to lose focus
when boyfriends are mad a things like that.
good luck with your girls and if you need more advice please e-mail me.
by the way i am starting my thrid year a varsity head coach, so i hope these
comments will help.
