High School Update

Level: High School
By: pad

Thought I would start a new thread on this.

My son has had a similar issue at the plate this year. He is jumping at pitches like their 85 mph when they are closer to 70.

This year so far has been the tale of the good, the bad and the ugly.

The good is his pitching. In the last 2 games he has gone:
7ip(cg), 9K, 3h, 3bbs and 6ip(cg), 12k, 1h, 2bbs.

The bad. I'm calling him Wally Pipp. He was starting at 1st and then had a grades issue for a week (great learning lesson). The next game his team had a 18 - 0 blowout with everyone getting multiple hits. The coach fell in love with a few kids and they've been starting ever since.

The ugly, as I stated above it's his hitting, now about 250. Without the staring spot, he is only getting to the plate when he pitches and an occasional pinch hit which hasn't allowed him to get in any kinda of rhythm.

They have 4 games left with no playoffs for freshman ball.
