Just Venting...

When their kids hit organized sports, parents go insane. It must be a law. Intelligent, reasonable people lose their grip on reality. Strikes are balls. Balls are strikes. My kid can't catch because your kid can't throw. Coaches who win are demons. Coaches who lose are incompetent boobs.

I'd like to turn my team over to an old guy whose kids are grown. Find me one who has no personal stake in who plays or who doesn't. One who has no other ambition than to help kids learn the best game in the world. I think kids learn baseball best from their grandfathers, anyway. And these nut-case parents need a strong father figure to help them through the ups and downs of little league. It's a traumatic moment when a parent first realizes that his kid isn't perfect. And if there's one that baseball reveals to us, it's that none of us is perfect.

Old coaches, get those arms and legs in shape. We need you.
