More on Pitching machines as long-term investments

I should add some other info to the above - something to keep in mind before you spend the wife's cookie jar money on a machine. Do not delude yourself into thinking that having your own pitching machine will ensure you the top hitters. NOTHING beats actually (arm) pitching! I have had 9 yo kids that can drive the ball to (and over) the fence off the machine. The same kids bail out when a kid (with little control) throws it up there at half the speed! I am suggesting that a pitching machine CAN be beneficial, but it is ONLY a suppliment and not the "cure." Personally, we use the pitching machine only once a week, and the other (three times) have them hitting off live pitching.
