Help With League Rules

By: Steve

Are you sure you want your kids to pitch at all? Our league uses a pitching machine for 7/8 year olds. We find that Coach-Pitch doesn't work because the coaches throw too easily. We also are concerned that allowing 7/8 year olds to pitch will create more problems that it will solve. It's difficult for them to be anything close to consistent around the plate. There are lots of walks and lots of hit batters. Batters do not go up to the plate looking for a hit. They're either looking for a walk or just hoping to survive the experience. A pitching machine is much more consistent. We find it develops better hitters and our 9 year old pitching hasn' suffered for it.
