Rules & Regulations on playing veteran Babe Ruth Players

You didn't say whether you are the coach in question. I assume you're the parent of a veteran.

So, from the hip... It ought to be against the rules to try to coach from the stands. I know of very few coaches sons who haven't benefitted from extra instruction and therefore are better players and therefore ought to play often.

If the coach's rookie son is good he should play every game (if not every inning). If he isn't good enough, then I suggest you volunteer to be the coach next year!

I do have a problem, though, with any kid who rides the pines for an entire game. (Unless disciplined for missed practice, etc.)

Bottom line... The baseball gods are not fair. I've had rookie 15 year olds who can rope a shot from deep third to first and third year 'veteran' 18 year olds who can't throw 90'.

First suggestion... Volunteer to be the official scorekeeper and do stats. Look at plate appearances, rbi's, put-outs and assists. They don't lie.
