Travel Baseball and Little League

To Baseball Mom, Parents and coaches who think that just because a kid is not on a travel or select team before high school is bizare and unrealistic. For example, When I was in little league I never made the "select" team. I always got cut and put on the "intramural" teams. In football the same thing happened. When I got to high school I ended up making All County (3B) as a senior and was All County Football (LB) as a junior and senior in up state NY. I always believed in myself and knew if given the opportunity I could play with anyone. As a matter of fact some of the "select" players from youth league could not find playing time in HS and ended up quitting. So my advise is don't worry about it. Let your son do what he wants to do and just have fun. HS will take care of it's self.
