Replies Well Taken
By: Kenneth Bean
Hi Persons I wrote a reply to some replies on my post "I'm Agin' it". The board crashed right about that time and some of you might have missed it. I reconstruct here as well as I can. It's important. Every loving parent is going to get by hook or crook the best equipment and training they can for their kiddos. I assumed that was a given among you folks who contribute here. What I was objecting to is giving anyone else your kid's heart and mind to play with. You just can't delegate that. I also mentioned that all the name brand baseball equipment companies are extremely competitive. If one comes up with a better bat, it is copied by all the competitors soonest. Any advantage is momentary. I've spent a lot of time in the data base, and feel as if I know you guys pretty well, and most of you post as if there were twenty or thirty "OLD FRIENDS" or old antagonists, as the case might be, reading those posts. Nothing could be further from the truth. You are simply the ones who have dedicated your hearts to your kids, and are sort of outgoing. Lots and lots and lots of folks click in here to keep up with what is going on. Al might have a handle on the number, but I know it's a lot from the E-mail volume I've received. Most of those folks have either met me, or feel like they have after reading Bean's About Baseball. Clifford, you were griping about me promoting my book. I'm not. I'm promoting the knowledge contained in my book. Every parent in the world with a kid playing ball ought to have that know how. That know how simply cannot be found anywhere else at all, even though the book has been out six years. I would have thought someone would have copied it by now, and plagerized the heck out of it. But I deal with childrens' hearts and minds and hopes and fears, and most baseball writers don't even want to go there. That is precisely why my "leftovers" always won. I have an active consulting practice. I was the youngest fortune 100 C.E.O. ever, with no "connection", (age 26), then I invented a new industry and took it public. My consulting time is very expensive. This book is a GIFT, to all the parents coming along who simply want their kids to do well in baseball/life. So I'll make this offer. E-mail me a beans@pdq.net and I'll send you a free copy. If you take my "wackiest" notion, try it with the kids, and it doesn't work, you just tell everyone here how stupid I am. (That is called a book review). If on the other hand you are absolutely delighted and the kids achieve wonderful stuff, then you don't need to say a word. (The reason I still charge for the book is that most people won't pay attention to something if it's free. On the other hand, I've donated around fifty thousand to needy leagues at this point. Highest regards Kenneth Bewan
