Coaches That Talk Too Much

By: Frustrated

After my son's 8-10 year old baseball team had their team meeting I was happy with what I thought to a well thought out meeting. The coach seemed so organized and did an excellent job in covering what he expected from the kids and parents.

Now to my surprise, the coach hasn't stopped talking. The kids spend most of their practice time sitting on the ground listening to the coach lecture while the other teams are busy working drills and playing the game.

I can see the coach talking 10-15 during practice to explain and demonstrate the various skills. But this is ridiculous. The last things kids need after spending all day in school is to spend another hour plus listening to the coach.

Kids on this team would be better prepared for practice with a pencil and tablet. Little need for a glove and bat.
