Hitting on the handle - e.g. Getting Jammed

It's beneficial to understand age of player and type of pitching he is facing to understand if the player is 'jamming' himself during the baseball swing. In addition to what Jim mentioned, this type of ailment (e.g. getting jammed) could also mean weaknesses in the following hitting mechanics: a) Lower Half - a1. Poor Stride / No Stride a2. Inability to clear hips b) Upper Half - b1. Helicoptor swing Casting Front Arm Bar b2. Premature Extension of arms and hands at contact Goal & Objective: Put sweet spot of bat on ball consistently (e.g. all hitters get jammed. period. Just the good hitters do is less frequently) Potential Remedy 1. The ol' swing the behind the back, (to isolate Arms/Hands) & examine lower / upper Half sync 2. Top Hand / Bottom Hand Tee Work 3. Underload/Overlaod Hitting Drills e.g. Smaller Balls Longer Bats Thinner Sticks Good luck
