Fund Raising
By: Super Series Baseball of America
Fund raising in youth sports today is as important as any other ingredient. It takes funding to field a team, hire professional instructors, buy quality equipment and uniforms, and to pay league and tournament costs. Usually, it's been the parents who have picked up the tab. But times are changing. Super Series Baseball of America is one of the newest, and fastest growing, baseball organizations in the nation. Our goals include not only providing teams with outstanding organized tournaments and national championship competition, but also to assist teams, leagues, and youth organizations with funding of THEIR programs. There are many fund raisers available nationally - and numerous fund raising companies. But the basis for each is usually the same - buy our product - sell alot of it - and split the profits. Now, Super Series Baseball of America has established a program where YOUR team or organization can HOST a tournament, and you keep all of the proceeds. And, when you examine the scope of attraction of Super Series national qualifying tournaments, that amounts to thousands of dollars in profits in just one weekend. You could sell candy or other products, hold car washes or garage sales, or just about anything else you can image, and you won't beat the return offered by a Super Series tournament event! Some teams have worked and saved for over a year on a fund raiser, and still haven't matched the success of a Super Series event. The Super Series organization has grown to more than 11,000 member teams in just the past three years. Many of these have held Super Series events. The smallest event generated over $8,000 for the host team or organization. The largest was more than three times that amount! And, Super Series provides marketing, promotional, and administrative support unequalled by any other organization. Super Series publishes a full-color brochure, which upon request, is mailed FREE to more than 11,000 teams nationwide. Now that's promotion! In addition, the organization has a well-organized, and frequently updated web site informing you of the latest Super Series events, results, and much more. Hosts not only receive support, but also free brochures for their local mailings, a customized web page for their event, custom graphics for their e-mail and letterheads, logo souvenirs, logo trophies and awards, and even discounted airfares and car rentals are provided for guests travelling to the event site! To host a Super Series, the host must sign a licensing agreement. There is a small fee required, usually amounting to less than 2 team's entry fees, to help defray the organization's costs of its brochures and web site. But the host retains all entry fees, gate receipts, concession sales, souvenir profits, and more. "Our purpose is not to get rich off other people's events," says executive director, Mark Mathew, but rather to assist programs throughout the nation. In addition, these nationwide hosts also enable teams attending their events to qualify for the Super Series Baseball National Championships, which are held at some of the most incredible baseball facilities in the nation. The Super Series Tournaments also offer pure-age groups, 9 through 18, and two skill levels of competition - National and American. The National Division is comparable to the "majors," and the American Division is for the "minors" or teams of a little lesser ability. Only ten percent of the teams in the nation become eligible, and attend, post season national championship events. "We want to provide any opportunity for more teams to qualify for a true national championship tourney and trip at the end of the season," says Mathew. If your team or organization is interested in hosting a Super Series event, your first step would be to e-mail the organization at "info@superseriesbaseball.com." You'll receive a prompt response describing what's involved in hosting a Super Series event. If you provide a fax number, printed information is promptly sent. Simply fill out the tourney application and submit it, and you've started the ball rolling towards a tremendously rewarding endeavor! Imagine earning thousands of dollars in just one weekend for your organization or team! That would pay for all of your uniforms and equipment - or that special tourney trip you've wanted to take! There are no catches or surprises. Reference are available upon request. Super Series Baseball of America has grown from a local endeavor started 7 years ago. Super Series receives over a hundred e-mails per day. They also have a Newsletter - which you can subscribe to - and it arrives periodically via e-mail. Super Series Baseball not only wants to provide one of the best tournament programs in the country, it also hopes to be the organization that truly helps teams, leagues, and youth organizations throughout the nation.
