Center Field Distance

SEVERAL LL'S HAVE RESORTED TO EXTENDING THE FENCES UPWARD IN INCREMENTS OF 4, 6 OR 8FT. THIS DECREASES THE HOME RUN % BECAUSE MOST 11-12 YEAR OLDS DO NOT GET THE HEIGHT OF A 13-14 YEAR OLD. AN ADDITIONAL 4FT ADDED TO AN ORIGINAL 4FT FENCE, ACTUALLY INCREASES THE LENGTH OF THE FENCE TO 215-220FT. THE BEST HEIGHT I HAVE SEEN IS 10-12 FT...THIS IS HIGH ENOUGH TO DECREASE HOMERUNS, AND SAFER THAN THE LLWS FENCES THAT ARE 4FT, WHICH I THINK, AND HAVE SEEN, ARE UNSAFE DUE TO KIDS TRYING TO CATCH A BALL AT THE FENCE AND FALLING OVER AND HURTING THEIR BACK.
THIS AN EXCELLENT TOPIC TO BE SENT TO LL IN PA. AND ALOT OF BOARDS ARE DOING SO TO HELP REVISE THE CURRENT STANDARDS...WOOD BATS HAVE BEEN GONE A LONG TIME!! MAYBE A RETURN IS IN ORDER...
