The 1999 Bear Classic - Draft Report

The 9th Annual Bear Classic, High School
Labor Day Tourney, Showcase for Our National
Pastime was a huge success. Lot's
of happy Players, Colleges, Mom & Dads
and fans.....even though it was rain shortened weekend.

Nine high school age baseball clubs
from six states and nine cities attended
including:
New York - Long Island
New York - FABL
Maryland - Host
Maryland - Baltimore
Pennslvania - North Allegheny (Pittsburgh)
Pennslvania - Philadelphia
New Jersey - Ramapo Valley
Connecticut - W. Hartford

Travelling HS players from seven
states + our nations capital attended
the event incl:
Vermont
Massachusetts
New Hampshire
North Carolina
New York
Maryland
New Jersey
Washington DC
Pennsylvania
Connecticut

College Conferences sending representatives
to the 1999 Bear Classic included:

Eastern College Athletic Conference
Garden State Athletic Conference

(& I hope I didn't miss anybody)


Lot's of talent this year,
& outstanding individual
performances.

& I am sure all the players
got their 'motivation' switch
turned on for the fall and winter.

Just cant't wait until NLI week
in November, & of course what players
will be drafted in the 2000 June
MLB A draft.
