YOUTH BASKETBALL REGISTRATION & GENERAL INFORMATION

BAABA is a member of the Indian Nations Basketball Conference, recreational teams as well as open league teams will have games at member facilities as well as the BACC. 

Practices for recreational teams will still be held in the facilities in BA.

 

Open Leagues avail, elite & select—(AAU quality teams).  Coaches contact the office for reg. details.

Eligibility:  Children living in the Broken Arrow City limits, or attending a Broken Arrow School are eligible.  K thru 9th grade girls & boys.  8/9th graders trying out for your school team, MUST register during normal registration to guarantee availability, those making the school team will have their registration fee returned.  Eligibility subject to verification.

 

Cost:      $105; (there will also be a fundraiser-TBA or a $40 buyout), multiple child discount available, but payments must be handled thru the office directly; you may choose Cash option & contact the office for instructions.  Minimum payment at time of registration is $50 registration will be canceled if payment not received by Oct 23rd, balance due by December 1st if you pay by credit card online or in person it is subject to a service charges.    WE DO NOT CHARGE GATE FEE AT SEASON GAMES.  NO REFUNDS AFTER DRAFTS ARE HELD.  Refund subject to fees.

 

Fund-raiser:  Each player may choose to either, sell 5 Domino peeler cards @ $10 each, or cash buyout @ $40.

 

Free T-Shirt:  ***Each player will receive a t-shirt. You should receive them from your coach at your first practice.  Please be sure and select the size shirt during your registration process.

 

Participation Trophies: to K thru 2nd grade.

Participation, K-2 4 minutes per quarter, 3-9th one full uninterrupted quarter in the first half, and participation in the second half.

 

Developmental League:      We use a draft system to form teams, NO player maybe added to a team except thru the draft process.

   INBC protect rule change:  returning team’s 1 protect & new team’s 4 protects must be new players within the INBC.

 

COMBINE:  All players subject to the draft will attend a combine practice, Nov 1 @ South Intermediate, times TBA watch the website, those not attending will be subject to a blind draft.  If your child is new to the league, or will not be returning with last years team they must attend to be available for the coaches to ‘select’ them at the draft, those not attending will be placed by the league.

 

Notice of Team Affiliation:  You should hear from your coach after November 4th,  for Kt thru 6th grade, 7/8/9th would possibly be later as we have to hold that draft when the schools have completed their try-outs.

 

Start of Season:  tentative dates only at this time:

Practice: Rec teams will begin approximate November 2nd   Minimum of 1 hour possibly more depending on availability of gyms.  We strive to give ˝ court practices as a rule.  Please be on time not too early or late!  All BA park facilities will be closing at 8:30 this season, also at the Central Park facility, please ONLY use the door specific to the gym you are scheduled in, there will be other events being held at the same time.

 

Games: approximately 10 games.  Tentative schedule, Dec 5, 12, 19, holiday break, Jan 9 thru Feb first of March

 

Gyms:    Home games at  CPCC (Central Park on Main), games will also be scheduled at other leagues gym sites.

 

Goals:    K-2nd—8.5 ft; 3rd-8th 10 ft.   K-2nd free throws will be 10 feet from the front of the rim, with NO 3 point shots.

Balls:    K, 1st and 2nd—27.5; 3rd-6th & 7/8th girls—28.5 (women’s); 7/8th boys regulation men’s ball

We provide warm up and game balls on game day; NO outside balls will be allowed in the gym on game days. 

 

Additional Costs:  Reversible jerseys are mandatory a light side & a dark, and are arranged thru your coach. Games: there is no admission fee to any season games

 

Jewlery:  NO jewelry, this includes pierced earrings!  Exceptions are not made because the piercing is new.

 

THE CITY HAS NOTIFIED US THAT THEIR RULES PROHIBIT ANY FOOD OR DRINK IN THE BUILDING WITH THE EXCEPTION OF PLAYERS HAVING A WATER BOTTLE, WATER ONLY, NO GATORADE, JUICE, ETC. 

PARENTS CODE OF ETHICS

I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care and encouragement for all children participating in BAABA by following this Code of Ethics Pledge.  

 I will encourage good sportsmanship by demonstrating positive support for all players, coaches, spectators & officials at every game, practice or other youth sports event.  

I will place the emotional and physical well being of all children ahead of any personal desire to win.            

I will provide support for coaches and officials working with my child to provide a positive, enjoyable experience for all. 

 I will demand a drug, alcohol and weapon free sports environment. Tobacco only allowed when designated area is available. 

 I will remember that the game is for children and not for adults.  I will do my very best to make youth sports fun for all children. 

 I will ask my child to treat other players, coaches, fans and officials with respect regardless of race, sex, creed or ability. 

 I will promise to help all children enjoy the youth sports experience within my personal constraints by assisting with coaching, being a respectful fan, or whatever I am capable of doing. 

 Assaults, verbal abuse, profanity or a display of poor sportsmanship by a coach, parent, participant, club official or guest at a BAABA game or event will not be tolerated.  Taunting, derogatory or intimidating remarks, obscene or distracting gestures, either verbal or physical, toward players, coaches, game officials and referees or any other persons will not be tolerated.  POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES OF VIOLATION OF ANY PART OF THE CODE OF CONDUCT MAY BE, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, EJECTION FROM PREMISES &/OR FROM THE LEAGUE.
